    Why this role exists

Diagnosis is the beginning, not the end. Women diagnosed at 40 have to reinterpret twenty years of perceived personal failure, usually while managing a household and a job. Nobody funds that work and almost everyone needs it.

Who you would be looking after

Women recently diagnosed with ADHD, many also navigating perimenopause, which sharpens symptoms considerably.

    A day in the diary

    • Four to eight 50 minute sessions, scheduled entirely by you
    • Blocks of six or twelve sessions, so endings are planned
    • Written session summaries, because ADHD memory makes them essential
    • Monthly peer group with the neurodevelopmental team

    What the work involves

    • Deliver post-diagnostic therapy and skills work over defined blocks of sessions
    • Address rejection sensitivity, burnout and self-concept alongside practical strategies
    • Adapt for cyclical and perimenopausal symptom change
    • Coordinate with prescribers where medication is part of the plan

    What we ask for

    • BACP, UKCP, BABCP or HCPC registration
    • Current work with adult ADHD, ideally with women
    • Understanding of the hormone and ADHD interaction

    What you get

    • Referrals straight from our assessment pathway
    • Sessions you schedule
    • Peer group monthly

    What this pays, and why

Private therapy self-pay rates sit around £60 to £100 an hour in the UK, but most platform work pays therapists £35 to £50. We pay closer to the self-pay rate because we are not taking a large platform margin.

    How hiring works here

    1. You send your details. No agency screening call before anyone clinical has read them.
    2. A clinician from the relevant pathway calls you within five working days.
    3. A working conversation about how you would handle two real cases.
    4. Registration and references checked, then a start date that works around your existing commitments.

Questions clinicians ask about this role

Where do the referrals come from?

Directly from our own ADHD assessment pathway, so clients arrive diagnosed and already understand why they were referred.

    Is supervision provided?

We run a monthly peer group. Individual supervision remains your own responsibility as a registered therapist.

    Minimum commitment?

Four hours a week, so it can sit alongside an existing practice.
