    Why this role exists

Women present differently, get missed, and arrive at assessment carrying a decade of the wrong labels. Diagnostic tools were normed on boys. Assessors who know that literature, and who can hold the hormonal picture alongside it, are the constraint on this whole pathway.

Who you would be looking after

Women aged 25 to 55, many self-referring after a child's diagnosis, frequently with a history of anxiety, disordered eating, PMDD or a cyclical worsening of symptoms.

    A day in the diary

    • Two to three assessments a day if you want volume, or two a week if you do not
    • Ninety minutes of clinical interview, plus collateral history where available
    • Paid report writing time blocked in the same week, not squeezed into evenings
    • Monthly peer review with the assessment team

    What the work involves

    • Deliver DIVA-5 based assessments with developmental history and collateral information
    • Account for masking, hormonal cycling and previous misdiagnosis in your formulation
    • Write reports a GP will accept for shared care, within ten working days
    • Join monthly peer review with the assessment team

    What we ask for

    • HCPC, GMC or NMC registration
    • Diagnostic training and current practice in adult ADHD
    • Working knowledge of how ADHD presents across the menstrual cycle and perimenopause

    What you get

    • Report writing time included in the fee, not expected for free
    • You set your weekly caseload
    • No cold referrals: everyone is pre-screened before they reach your diary

    What this pays, and why

Right to Choose providers commonly pay assessors £250 to £450 per assessment with report writing unpaid, which is where the real hourly rate collapses. Our fee includes report time, so £380 to £600 is what the assessment actually earns you.

    How hiring works here

    1. You send your details. No agency screening call before anyone clinical has read them.
    2. A clinician from the relevant pathway calls you within five working days.
    3. A working conversation about how you would handle two real cases.
    4. Registration and references checked, then a start date that works around your existing commitments.

Questions clinicians ask about this role

Does the fee really include report writing?

Yes. The quoted fee covers the clinical interview, collateral gathering and the written report. There is no separate unpaid admin expectation.

Can I set my own volume?

Entirely. Some assessors do two a week alongside NHS work, others do fifteen. You tell us your capacity each month.

    Do you offer titration too?

Yes, through a separate prescribing team, so you are not obliged to take on medication management unless you want to.
