Why this role exists

A great deal of postnatal recovery is practical: feeding position, pelvic floor technique, sleep routines, knowing what is normal. That work does not need a registered clinician for every contact, and women get more of it when it does not.

Who you would be looking after

Women in the first year after birth attending recovery clinics and group sessions, plus telephone and message support between appointments.

A day in the diary

Supporting three to four clinics a day alongside midwives and physiotherapists
Running or co-running one group session a day
Follow-up calls and messages to women between appointments
Protected study time if you are on the training pathway

What the work involves

Support postnatal recovery clinics and prepare women for their appointments
Deliver infant feeding support within your competency, escalating complex problems
Co-run group education sessions
Follow up women who miss appointments, which is where most of the value sits

Care Certificate, or willingness to complete it with us
Experience supporting new mothers, paid or lived
Warmth and reliability over qualifications
Enhanced DBS
