Why this role exists
Digital clinical tools fail quietly. A screening questionnaire that routes wrongly, a triage rule that misses a red flag: these are patient safety incidents that never look like incidents. The CSO role is the only structural defence against that, and it is frequently treated as a signature rather than a job.
Who you would be looking after
No direct caseload. Your patients are everyone using the platform, which is why the role exists.
A day in the diary
- Clinical risk assessment on features in development
- Hazard log maintenance and review
- Incident investigation when something goes wrong
- Quarterly clinical safety report to the board
What the work involves
- Maintain DCB0129 and DCB0160 compliance across the platform
- Own the hazard log and clinical risk management file
- Sign off releases, or refuse to, with reasons in writing
- Investigate incidents and close the loop on actions
What we ask for
- Registered clinician with current registration
- Clinical Safety Officer training and practical DCB experience
- Willingness to hold a release when the evidence is not there

What this pays, and why
