Why this role exists
Women's health is under-researched partly because the data is a mess. Symptoms recorded as free text cannot be counted. Structured, coded data on menopause symptoms, PMDD cycles and postnatal recovery at scale is genuinely new evidence, and it starts with informatics.
Who you would be looking after
No direct caseload. Your work shapes the record every clinician in the network writes into.
A day in the diary
- Data model and terminology work with the engineering team
- Clinical template design with the clinical leads
- Interoperability work: FHIR, GP Connect, shared care records
- Data quality audit and reporting
What the work involves
- Own the clinical data model, SNOMED CT coding and terminology governance
- Design clinical templates that clinicians will actually complete
- Lead interoperability work, including FHIR and shared-care record integration
- Run data quality audit and turn it into research-ready datasets
What we ask for
- Clinical registration or a clinical background, plus informatics experience
- Practical SNOMED CT and FHIR knowledge
- Ability to argue with engineers and clinicians in their own language

Yes, with explicit patient consent and full governance. Building that capability properly is part of the role.
