    Common questions

Do you need cysts on a scan to have PCOS?
No. The Rotterdam criteria require two of three features, so PCOS can be diagnosed without polycystic ovarian morphology if ovulation is irregular and there are signs of raised androgens.
Does PCOS mean you cannot conceive?
No. PCOS is a common and treatable cause of irregular ovulation rather than an absence of fertility. Many women conceive with cycle tracking, weight-neutral metabolic work or ovulation induction.
