    Why this role exists

Advanced nurses are often used as overflow for the GP diary. Here the nurse practitioner list is the front door for most women, and the GP session exists to support it rather than the other way round.

Who you would be looking after

Women across the adult age range with perimenopausal symptoms, contraception needs, recurrent urinary symptoms, heavy bleeding or pelvic pain.

    A day in the diary

    • Six to eight 30 minute appointments, mixed new and review
    • A same-week urgent slot block for symptoms that cannot wait
    • Weekly supervision with a women's health GP, in the diary
    • Protected time for prescribing reviews and results

    What the work involves

    • Assess, diagnose and treat within your competence, referring only where genuinely needed
    • Prescribe independently, including HRT continuation and contraception
    • Lead on recurrent UTI and vaginal health pathways
    • Contribute to our clinical protocols rather than only following them

    What we ask for

    • NMC registration and an MSc-level advanced practice qualification, or equivalent portfolio
    • V300 independent prescribing
    • Two years or more in women's health, primary care or sexual health
    • Enhanced DBS, which we can arrange

    What you get

    • Genuine clinical autonomy with named GP supervision
    • Hybrid working with two clinic days a week
    • Pension, 33 days leave including bank holidays, and a CPD budget

    What this pays, and why

NHS band 7 advanced nurse roles run roughly £46,000 to £53,000. Private nurse practitioner posts in London reach £60,000. Our band reflects the prescribing autonomy and the size of the caseload you own.

    How hiring works here

    1. You send your details. No agency screening call before anyone clinical has read them.
    2. A clinician from the relevant pathway calls you within five working days.
    3. A working conversation about how you would handle two real cases.
    4. Registration and references checked, then a start date that works around your existing commitments.

Questions clinicians ask about this role

    Is V300 prescribing essential?

Yes for this role. If you are mid-course we can talk about a start date after completion.

How much of the week is remote?

Typically three days remote and two in clinic, with the clinic days fixed so you can plan around them.

Is there a career path beyond this?

Yes. Two of our current clinical leads joined as nurse practitioners. Lead roles carry an additional responsibility allowance.
