Nutritionist, gut health for women
Gut health work for women whose IBS turns out to track their cycle.
The short version
A remote associate nutritionist role in women's gut health paying £45 to £58 an hour. You work with IBS, bloating and the hormone-gut interaction across the cycle and perimenopause. AfN or BANT registration required.

Why this role exists
IBS is roughly twice as common in women, and a large share of it varies with the menstrual cycle. Standard gut protocols ignore that entirely, which is why so many women cycle through low FODMAP repeatedly without lasting improvement.
Who you would be looking after
Women with IBS, bloating and unexplained gut symptoms, particularly where symptoms worsen premenstrually or through perimenopause.
A day in the diary
- Four to eight 45 minute consultations, self-scheduled
- Symptom and cycle tracking review between appointments
- Structured reintroduction phases, properly supervised
- Monthly clinical group with the nutrition team
What the work involves
- Assess gut symptoms in the context of the menstrual cycle and hormonal change
- Deliver structured protocols including low FODMAP, with supervised reintroduction
- Recognise red flags and route them to medical review immediately
- Avoid open-ended elimination, which harms more women than it helps
What we ask for
- AfN registration or BANT membership with a relevant degree
- Gut health specialism with real caseload experience
- Comfort saying that a popular test has no evidence behind it
What you get
- Referrals from our own pathways
- Medical review available same week
- No supplement sales targets
What this pays, and why
Private nutrition consultations bill £70 to £150, with the practitioner carrying acquisition, admin and no-shows. Our hourly rate is paid on booked time whether the client attends or not.

How hiring works here
- You send your details. No agency screening call before anyone clinical has read them.
- A clinician from the relevant pathway calls you within five working days.
- A working conversation about how you would handle two real cases.
- Registration and references checked, then a start date that works around your existing commitments.

No. AfN registration or BANT membership with a relevant degree is the threshold for this role.
