    Why this role exists

Fertility care produces an enormous amount of data and very little explanation. Women arrive with AMH results they cannot interpret and a sense of urgency nobody has calibrated for them. That gap is a nursing job, and it is the one that changes outcomes.

Who you would be looking after

Women aged 28 to 44 planning pregnancy, women with PCOS or irregular cycles, women investigating subfertility, and women navigating egg freezing decisions.

    A day in the diary

    • Six to eight 45 minute preconception or review consultations
    • Cycle tracking review and results interpretation, in protected time
    • Coordination calls with external IVF units where treatment is underway
    • Weekly MDT with the medical and nutrition teams

    What the work involves

    • Run preconception assessment and planning consultations
    • Interpret and explain hormonal, ovarian reserve and imaging results
    • Coordinate onward referral and treatment cycles with partner units
    • Support women through decisions about egg freezing and treatment timing

    What we ask for

    • NMC registration with fertility or gynaecology experience
    • Comfort with the emotional weight of this work
    • Clear written communication, since much of the explaining is in writing

    What you get

    • A capped caseload with real continuity
    • Funded fertility nursing CPD
    • Clinical psychology support available for your patients, and for you

    What this pays, and why

NHS fertility nursing typically sits at Band 6 to 7 (£38,682 to £52,809). Private fertility units in London pay £40,000 to £55,000. Our band is mid-market with the difference being consultation length.

    How hiring works here

    1. You send your details. No agency screening call before anyone clinical has read them.
    2. A clinician from the relevant pathway calls you within five working days.
    3. A working conversation about how you would handle two real cases.
    4. Registration and references checked, then a start date that works around your existing commitments.

Questions clinicians ask about this role

Do you provide IVF on site?

No. We provide preconception care, investigation, coordination and support, and work with partner units for treatment cycles.

    Is counselling training required?

Not required, but this work needs someone comfortable sitting with distress. We fund fertility counselling skills training.

    Can this be fully remote?

Largely, yes. In-person days are for scan clinics and first consultations where the woman prefers it.
