    Why this role exists

Women were excluded from trials for decades and the evidence gap is still with us. Recruiting well, and keeping women in studies, is nursing work as much as science.

Who you would be looking after

Women consenting to and participating in observational and interventional women's health studies.

    A day in the diary

    • Three to four study visits a day, protocol timed
    • Screening and informed consent conversations without time pressure
    • Data entry and query resolution in protected blocks
    • Weekly study team meeting with the principal investigator

    What the work involves

    • Screen, consent and follow up participants to protocol
    • Take and process study samples and record data accurately
    • Manage participant retention with genuine relationship building
    • Support monitoring visits and query resolution

    What we ask for

    • NMC registration with a current PIN
    • Research experience, or strong clinical experience plus appetite to learn
    • Meticulous documentation habits
    • Good Clinical Practice training, which we fund

    What you get

    • Funded GCP and research methods training
    • Named authorship contributions where warranted
    • Pension, 33 days leave including bank holidays, and a CPD budget

    What this pays, and why

NHS band 6 research nursing runs roughly £37,000 to £45,000. Our band sits above because retention and consent quality carry real study risk and we hire for it.

    How hiring works here

    1. You send your details. No agency screening call before anyone clinical has read them.
    2. A clinician from the relevant pathway calls you within five working days.
    3. A working conversation about how you would handle two real cases.
    4. Registration and references checked, then a start date that works around your existing commitments.

Questions clinicians ask about this role

    Do I need research experience?

Not necessarily. Strong clinical nursing plus attention to documentation is enough; we fund GCP and mentor the rest.

What studies would I work on?

Current work spans menopause symptom outcomes, PMDD treatment response and pelvic floor rehabilitation.

    How much is remote?

Roughly two days a week for data and documentation; visits are on-site.
